June 10: His Majesty the King granted an audience to the Deputy Chief of Army Staff of India Lt. General SPS Dhillon yesterday. He arrived in the kingdom on a six day visit yesterday.
Lt. General SPS Dhillon was commissioned into the regiment of artillery in 1969.
In a career spanning about 40 years he has held various important posts. He commanded a field regiment and an infantry brigade in Jammu and Kashmir in active counter insurgency environment.
He is a recipient of Vishist Seva medal and the Ati Vishist Seva medal. He took over as the Deputy Chief of the Army Staff in February this year.
Lt. General SPS Dhillon also called on the Chief Operations Officer of the Royal Bhutan Army Major General Batoo Tshering.
