March 21: The annual Paro Tshechu is attracting a record number of tourists this year. The five day annual Tshechu began on March 17 and conclude today with the unfurling of the Guru Thongdrel Chenmo.The Paro Tshechu is one of the most popular festivals in the kingdom. It attracts a large number of tourists every year. This year, it has attracted a record number of tourists.
To cater to the increasing number of tourists, the Druk Air has introduced additional flights from March 15 to March 21 to the Nepalese capital Katmandu and Thai capital Bangkok.
At the Tshechu, Dzongkag offcials are giving the commentaries in Dzonkha as well as in English.
